Flooring Expert Tips

1
Standard Tile Sizes

Common floor tiles in India are 600x600mm (2x2 ft) or 800x800mm. Larger tiles mean fewer grout lines but require flatter sub-floors.

2
The Wastage Rule

Tiles must be cut to fit the edges of your room. Always add at least 5% wastage for standard rectangular rooms. If laying tiles diagonally, add 10% to 15% wastage!

3
Don't Forget Skirting

If you are using the same tile for the wall skirting (usually 4 inches high), you should add another 10% to your total tile order.
