Plumbing Expert Tips

1
The Golden Rule of Water

1 Cubic Meter of volume holds exactly 1,000 Liters of water. 1 Cubic Foot holds approximately 28.31 Liters.

2
Freeboard Space

Never fill a tank to the very brim. Always leave 150mm to 300mm (6 to 12 inches) of "freeboard" space at the top to prevent overflow.

3
Per Capita Requirement

Indian standard (IS 1172) recommends 135 Liters of water per person per day. A family of 4 needs a tank of at least 540 Liters for daily use.
